Welcome to the WiredVines Archive

You have reached the archive site for WiredVines™ web sites.  This site was setup to archive copies of the public web site used to promote Wiredvines.  This archive also contains copies of the WiredVines Coolvines™ and WiredVines eScout™ programs.

WiredVines enabled everyone in an organization to communicate as easily as if they were all in the same room.  It was a customized Internet service that lets people share information up, down, and across levels.  On their own schedules.  With flexible security to ensure appropriate access.  Today, collaboration portals, such as Microsoft's Sharepoint or EMC's Documentum eRoom offer similar functionality, although lacking the unique organization roll-up/roll-down functionality found in the WiredVines web portal.

Technically, WiredVines was a "hosted extranet." But it was an extranet in about the same way that the Empire State Building is a "building." It was the sort of extranet you or your IS Department would build if you had the time, many millions of dollars, and the need to provide unique data to thousands of different people at a time, in a secure and structured—yet fluid and user-centric—environment.

WiredVines was built on a robust, scaleable platform of Web and application servers. It delivered the power and flexibility of enterprise-class servers and services directly to your web browser.

Since people at each level of the organization need different information, WiredVines offered three different ways to interact with your membership.

  • Organization (Management): Enabled administrators to establish consistency, nurture growth, gather information, build reports. The only truly feasible way to Internet-enable your decentralized organizations.

  • Group (Communication): Let groups post schedules, publish news and information, conduct registrations and sign-ups, maintain membership lists—and share the effort. Two-way communication encourages participation.

  • Member (Personalization): Gave members a way to combine the many facets of their personal life with group events and news, and more. All in one handy, powerful personal productivity tool.

WiredVines was headquartered in Philadelphia's high-tech corridor, 20-minutes northwest of the city.  In addition to the WiredVines Internet service, the company offered technical support and marketing services for membership organizations.

The company was guided by a seasoned management team with significant expertise from the areas of software development, implementation and training. They were backed by a venture capital network including TL Ventures and RAF Netventures
